Come walk with fellow pilgrims on a Camino Walk, “Camino de Santiago” beginning September 26, 2024, for 11 days, starting at $4,798* from New York. You will walk and see Madrid, Burgos, Leon, Basilica of San Isidoro, Portomarin, Palas de Rei, Arzua, Santiago Cathedral, Muros, Waterfall, Finisterre, Seafarer’s Church, and much more.

Join your fellow Pilgrims on a Camino Walk! Please note that this tour requires strenuous walking, with some sections of the tour at a 45-degree angle incline or decline. The paths interchange with pavement, uneven stone, dirt (mud), and traffic crossings. There are sections of the tour with no immediate access for emergency care. By registering for this tour, you agree to travel at your own responsibility and that you are healthy enough to walk the prescribed distances each day.

Daily Itinerary

Day 1 September 26 – Depart the USA

Depart on your international overnight flights.

Day 2 September 27 – Arrive in Madrid – Burgos walking tour

Your guide will greet you at the airport. Travel to Burgos for lunch (on your own) and enjoy a city tour. Pass through the Arco de Santa Maria, an ornate gateway through the old city walls built to honor Charles V. Visit the Gothic Cathedral, begun in 1221. This is a pilgrimage church on the Camino de Santiago. Afterward, continue to Leon, another stop on the Camino de Santiago, for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 September 28 – Leon walking tour

This morning, enjoy a city tour of Leon after breakfast. See the Basilica of San Isidoro, where the Kings of Leon are buried, as well as the Church of San Salvador de Palat del Rey, once a royal chapel. After lunch, you will travel to Sarria for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 September 29 – Begin Camino - Sarria to Portomarin (21.5 km)

Begin your pilgrimage on foot at Sarria after breakfast, and then check into your hotel after your day of walking for dinner.

Day 5 September 30 – Portomarin to Palas de Rei (22 km)

Continue your walking journey after breakfast from Portomarin to Palas de Rei, and then check into your hotel after your day of walking for dinner.

Day 6 October 1 – Palas de Rei to Arzua (25.5 km)

Continue your walking journey after breakfast from Palas de Rei to Arzua, and then check into your hotel after your day of walking for dinner.

Day 7 October 2 – Arzua to O Pedrouzo (19 km)

Continue your walking journey after breakfast from Arzua to O Pedrouzo. Transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight in Santiago de Compostela.

Day 8 October 3 – O Pedrouzo to Santiago (20 km)

Return to O Pedrouzo to continue on the Camino to Santiago cathedral to complete your Camino journey. Return to your hotel for overnight. Enjoy dinner out this evening, and perhaps celebrate your completion attending the Pilgrim’s Mass at the cathedral, that may include the Botafumeiro ceremony.

Day 9 October 4 – Muros, Waterfall, Finisterre, Seafarer’s Church

Today, you’ll journey by bus to the port of Muros, and then walk to the Ezaro Waterfall. Enjoy lunch in Finisterre, before walking out to the lighthouse at “the end of the world.” Finish your day on the “Coast of Death” at the Virxe da Barca Sanctuary, which survived a 2013 lightning strike and subsequent flooding from the Atlantic. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 10 October 5 – Flight to Madrid – Day Tour of Madrid

This morning, you’ll fly to Madrid and enjoy a driving tour of the city. Enjoy time on your own this afternoon in Madrid.

Day 11 October 6 – Return to the USA
