Dr. Peter Walker is widely acknowledged as one of the foremost experts on the Holy Land, and his book In the Steps of Jesus (2006; revised 2020) has come to be recognized as the authoritative guide for Christian visitors. He has also written a sequel, In the Steps of Saint Paul (2008; revised 2022), which hopefully will be a useful travel companion for this cruise around the Aegean.

“I find being in the places associated with Paul’s ministry to be so inspiring for myself. So I hope I will be able to share some of my insights with you in such a way that you too feel inspired—seeing new things about Paul and the early Christians, and coming back home having had, not just a great holiday, but also a spiritual experience—a ‘journey of a lifetime’.”

Peter was Professor of Biblical Studies at Trinity School for Ministry, near Pittsburgh, from 2012 to 2017; and is now back in the UK, as an ordained minister within the Church of England. He will be travelling with his wife, Georgie: they have two children and two grandchildren.
