Day 1 Feb. 18 – Depart USA
Your pilgrimage begins as you depart the USA on an overnight flight.
Day 2 Feb. 19 – Arrive in Tel Aviv
You will be welcomed to the Holy Land by our airport representative and transferred to your Galilee hotel.
Day 3 Feb. 20 – Sea of Galilee
Sail across the Sea of Galilee and experience a special onboard worship service. Enjoy beautiful Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry, and visit the synagogue located on the site where Jesus taught (Matthew 4:13, 23). Visit the Church of the Fish and the Loaves in Tabgha, the traditional location of the feeding of the 5,000 (Luke 9:10-17). As you pray in the Chapel of the Primacy, remember how Peter professed his devotion to the risen Christ three times (John 21). On the Mount of Beatitudes, contemplate the “Sermon on the Mount” (Matt. 5-7). Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 Feb. 21 – Mount Tabor / Nazareth / Cana / Jerusalem
Visit Mount Tabor with a spectacular view of upper Galilee, where Jesus transfigured in the presence of Peter, James and John, and upon which stands the Church of Transfiguration. Continue to Nazareth, visit the Basilica of the Annunciation and view the Blessed Cave, where Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary. View Mary and Joseph’s House and carpentry shop where Jesus spent 30 years of His life. Visit Cana where Jesus performed His first miracle. Check in to your Jerusalem hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 5 Feb. 22 – Bethlehem
In Bethlehem, visit the cave revered as Jesus’ birthplace and see the Church of the Nativity constructed over the site (Matthew 1: 18 -25). Enjoy Mass at St. Catherine’s Church. Visit chapel of the Ascension, from which Jesus returned to his Father. Be inspired by the breathtaking beauty of Jerusalem (“the Golden City”) as you stand on the Mount of Olives, the place from which Jesus ascended into heaven forty days after His resurrection (Acts 1:9-12). Walk the Palm Sunday Road down the Mount of Olives. Walk to the Garden of Gethsemane and pray beneath the ancient olive trees (Matthew 26:36 -44). Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 Feb. 23 – Jerusalem
Remember the Lord’s sacrificial love at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where you will celebrate Mass. Walk the Via Dolorosa, “the Way of the Cross,” and stand in reverence at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Visit St. Peter in Gallicantu, the home of the High Priest Caiaphas, where Jesus was held after His arrest (Matthew 26:57). Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 7 Feb. 24 – Rome
Transfer to Tel Aviv for your flights to Rome, where your Italian guide will greet you at the airport and escort you on a panoramic driving tour of the city. Check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 8 Feb. 25 – Rome
Step beneath the surface into the Catacombs of Callixtus, built along the Appian Way. Here 16 Popes from the 2nd through 4th Centuries were interred, though they have been removed to various churches over the centuries. Visit the St. Peter in Chains Church, said to house the chains that once held the disciple and home to Michelangelo’s statue of Moses. Continue to see the Forum, Colosseum, Pantheon and Palazzo Venezia. Later enjoy visits to the Basilica of Saint Mary Major (Maria Maggiore), the Archbasilica of Saint John Lateran and the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls.
Day 9 Feb. 26 – Rome
This morning we will make our way to St. Peter’s Square to attend the Papal Audience, led by His Holiness, Pope Francis. (Papal Audience: Is scheduled to take place every Wednesday, pending the schedule of Pope Francis). Following the audience you will experience the glory of Christian Rome when you visit the Vatican, home to one of the greatest museums in the world. And, of course, you’ll enter St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel, where you’ll view Michelangelo’s frescoes which have been restored to their full, colorful glory.
Day 10 Feb. 27 – Return to USA
